ACUPUNCTURE & CHINESE MEDICINE

Ancient Wisdom of the East

Backed by Modern Science of the West

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient art that’s been practiced for thousands of years as part of Chinese medicine and Eastern medicine.

In Chinese medicine theory, the human body is a map to understanding underlying mental, emotional, or physical imbalances.

A vital force of life, called Qi (“chi,” prana, energy) flows throughout the body. Any imbalance of flow contributes to dis-ease and dis-comfort. Restoring balance is a key concept of vitality and wellbeing.

How It Works
  • Using your body as a guide, our acupuncturists diagnose patterns of disharmony and work with your body’s natural rhythms and energy resources to bring your body into better balance.
  • We’ll look for patterns of disharmony by examining the hue of your skin, the appearance of your tongue, and the quality of your pulse.
  • Then, we’ll select a specific set of points on the body (called “Acupuncture points”) and gently needle them to encourage changes in current patterns and restore balance.
  • We may also recommend herbal formulas that heal from the inside out—or other therapies like Gua Sha, tuning forks, cupping, and infrared heat.

The Vitam Acupuncture Difference

Symptoms seemingly unrelated tied together.
Relaxing, multi-modal & more than just the needling.

We see every client as an integrated being influenced by:
  • The air we breathe.
  • The water and food we take in.
  • The relationships we have with nature & the seasons.
  • The relationships we have with others.

Our open, curious, integrative approach includes:
  • Using more modalities than just needling; like cupping, Gua Sha, tuning forks, manual therapy, and infrared heat.
  • Having acupuncture by a doctor who is also trained in naturopathic medicine.
  • Recognizing signs that may call for bloodwork or imaging.
  • Working with your current healthcare plan, prescription medicines, and doctors.
  • Recommending other services that may help you reach your goals, like Naturopathic Medicine, Lifestyle/Exercise Prescription, or Physical Therapy.
  • Being your doctors for life. You don’t need a specific problem to come and see us! Acupuncture can be great for overall health and vitality.

We promise:
  • Your session will be safe, gentle, relaxing, and rejuvenating.
  • To combine your words & intuition with our hands, eyes, experience, intuition, and education—to guide your unique 1:1 session.

Vitam Client .

I have immense gratitude for Chinese medicine and acupuncture. It helped me get out of a painful rut. I am so much more comfortable.

Vitam Client .

Having an acupuncturist who is also a naturopathic doctor was the missing link I needed. After seeing multiple specialists and still not having answers, Dr. Jackie was able to clearly see an imbalance and treat it with herbs and acupuncture. The debilitating symptoms I’ve had for over a decade are nearly gone.

Vitam Client .

Dr. Jackie is a phenomenal acupuncturist. Her background and experience with both Chinese and naturopathic modalities give her extensive wisdom in healing and wellness. This medicine is potent and has profound effects.

We look forward to treating you.
